Saudi Arabia to Produce 14 Egyptian Films

Over the last few years, Saudi Arabia has actually become a dynamic center for imagination and development. Following the country’s 35-year movie theater restriction, Saudi Arabia is now placed as the primary motion picture market in the Middle East.

Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Turki Al Sheikh, has actually signed an arrangement to release a fund worth EGP 4 billion (USD 129 million) to sponsor and support the production of Egyptian and Saudi movies. The arrangement can reach EGP 20 billion (USD 646 million). The effort is led by GEA as a main sponsor and the Egyptian Ministry of Culture is functioning as a co-sponsor.
