Desert Dream Train
SAR, Italian Arsenale Group has launched Desert Dream Train, the first of its kind in the Middle East, according to SABQ Online Newspaper.
The “Desert Dream” train service was signed by SAR’s CEO, Dr. Bashar bin Khalid Al-Malik, and Arsenal Group’s Chairman, Paolo Barletta. This was in line with the MoU signed between the parties on March 15, 2023.
Enhancing Services, National Strategies
Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser highlighted that this luxury service is a first in the Middle East and North Africa. It will enrich transportation quality and options in the Kingdom.
Additionally, he noted the agreement aligns with the national transportation and logistics strategy. This strategy aims to enhance life quality and support leading national strategies.

Production, Service Launch
Paolo Barletta reported that the initial production stages of the “Desert Dream” train recently commenced in Italy, in preparation for service commencement as per the announced plan. The train, comprising 40 luxury cabins, will open for booking by the end of this calendar year.
Its actual operation is scheduled to start in the last quarter of the following year; the first journey will commence from the North Train Station in Riyadh, passing through Hail, and ending at the passenger train station in Qurayyat.
Investment and Specialty
Arsenale, having invested over two hundred million Riyals in the “Desert Dream” train, is an Italian company specializing in luxurious hospitality, management of global hotels and resorts, and high-end travel. It operates sustainable projects for luxury services via tourist trains, with a fleet of six trains operating in Italy.
