‘Predator’ Intentionally Tried to Infect Men & Boys With HIV Through Sex

An Idaho man was sentenced on Friday to up to 30 years in prison for purposely transmitting HIV to men and children through sexual contact.

Alexander Louie, 34, admitted that he stopped taking HIV medications and had sex with 30 to 50 men and boys. Ada County authorities started investigating Louie last August for planning to sexually abuse a 15-year-old boy he met online, according to KTVB.

Louie did not disclose his HIV status to his sexual partners, which is illegal in Idaho. The Idaho Statesman reported that he has two pending charges for transferring HIV. He is due back in court next month.

Louie must serve at least 16 years before he’s eligible for parole.

Ada County District Judge Derrick O’Neill said, “Your conduct would be the Webster’s definition of a predator.”
