People in South East United States beware, experts say biggest bug infection to hit America soon, Sky News reported.

These periodical cicadas, which surface every 13 years, will coincide with the emergence of another brood that comes out every 17 years.

The event will see two types of cicadas — brood XIX and XIII– come out of the ground, amounting to trillions of these tiny insects in the air.

However, there’s no need to be scared, as these tiny flies are not harmful. In fact, they are a valuable source of food for birds and mammals.

In addition, Cicadas can aerate lawns and improve water filtration into the ground while they add nutrients to the soil as they decompose.

As per the New York Post, the emergence of Brood XIII cicadas will be seen in areas including northern Illinois, eastern Iowa, southern Wisconsin, and a few counties in extreme north-western Indiana.

Whereas, Brood XIX, which follows a 13-year cycle will emerge in 15 states such as Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
