No humans have been trapped by the gigantic Venus flytrap but plenty are being attracted to its colourful display at the LaSalle Landing event centre.
“The Venus Flytrap is a very unique choice in my opinion,” said Melissa Baldock, who was recently touring Sean Kenney’s Animal Super Powers LEGO show with husband Matt and kids Madison, 3, and one-year-old Morgan.

“It’s not your typical animal, I suppose. It’s just really interesting.”
The Baldock family was checking out the show on a cold February weekend morning.
“It’s a unique, talented experience,” she said. “I don’t have the patience to barely build anything out of LEGOs, so this is just phenomenal.
“And Madison’s just kind of coming in to using LEGOs herself so it’s … a good opportunity to come and spend time with the family.”
Sean Kenney’s gravity-defying, awe-inspiring LEGO sculptures have been amazing visitors since the show opened Jan. 25.
A near life-sized bison built out of thousands of LEGO bricks dwarfed four-year-old Lucas Boudreau Saturday as he and dad Michel toured the exhibit.
A quiet, soft-spoken Lucas said he liked the display and he was hoping to see his favourite animal — a giraffe.
“He loves LEGOs and he likes construction,” said Michel. “We have LEGOs at home. We thought it would be a good thing to bring him.”
The larger-than-life LEGO sculptures and exhibits in Animal Super Powers are accompanied by educational information. An interactive play zone also gives kids an opportunity to build their own LEGO sculptures.
General admission times continue Thursday to Sunday through April 6, at 970 Front Rd. Hours are Thursdays and Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., (holiday hours may vary).
Admission is $13. Tickets can be purchased online at lasalletickets.ca or at the door.
