Following the rollout of META AI across 13 countries, including Nigeria, on Thursday, users have seen both sides of the smartest bot META owner Mark Zuckerberg said have ever existed.
Users on Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram can just type “@meta ai” in the chat box or click the blue icon for the AI assistant.
Among the things META AI can do for you are:
*Answering all question you can ever imagine
*Generate all images you can ever dream up
*Predict what you type next
Now the flip side.
While many users have found the chatbox somewhat super intelligent in certain areas, some others have found it super dumb, intrusive, or rude in certain areas.
According to CBS News, the chatbot entered some private Facebook groups for Manhattan mom, and posed as a member.
It claim it had a child in New York City School District. When other moms confronted it, it apologized, and the comment disappeared.
“Apologies for the mistakes! I’m just a large language model, I don’t have experiences or children,” the bot said.
ANother example: The bot confused a Boston forum for swapping unwanted items. Responding to a forum member asking for an item, an AI BOT said it had a “gently used’ Canon camera and “an almost new portable air conditioning unit that I never ended up using”.
META responded in a statement that the model is new, and it still undergoing further training.
So users should just grin and bear it when their intelligent assistant occasionally turns goofy.
