‎US oil inventories rise lower than expectations

US crude oil inventories reported a lower-than-expected increase in the week ended March 1, data from the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed.

Gasoline and distillate stocks declined during the same period.

Crude oil stocks added 1.4 million barrels by the end of the week, versus expectations of an increase of 2.4 million barrels.

Last week, US gasoline stocks decreased by 4.5 million barrels, while distillate stocks, which include diesel and heating oil, were down by about 4.1 million barrels.
