KYIV – Ukraine got $1.34 billion under the World Bank’s public expenses for administrative capability endurance in Ukraine, the Ukrainian financing ministry stated on Monday.

The ministry stated in a declaration the funding included a $1.086 billion loan from the World Bank, $190 million grant from Norway, $50 million grant from the United States and $20 million grant from Switzerland.

The ministry stated the funds would be utilized to partly make up for non-security and defence-related expenses of the Ukrainian state budget plan, consisting of old-age social payments and payments to staff members of the state emergency situation service.

“International monetary support is a substantial contribution to preserving Ukraine’s monetary and financial stability and permits us to offer top priority social expenses throughout the war,” Ukraine’s financing minister Serhiy Marchenko stated. REUTERS
