Teen driver sustains multiple serious leg injuries when he crashes into pole at Clontarf, near Brisbane

A teenage driver suffered serious leg injuries when he wrapped a car around a pole near Brisbane on Tuesday night.

The 18-year-old man was driving two passengers in a Toyota convertible on Grice St in Clontarf, in the Moreton Bay area, when he crashed about 9pm.

The P-plater was “heavily entrapped” in the car when emergency services arrived, according to Queensland Ambulance Service.

It took about an hour to remove him before paramedics treated him for multiple serious leg injuries, including fractures.

He was taken to Royal Brisbane and Woman’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police are yet to determine if the car was stolen or what caused the crash.

The two passengers were uninjured.
