RIP to Facebook’s News tab. My good friend’s mommies liked you a lot.

Next month, Meta will eliminate Facebook News, its news center situated in the platform’s bookmarks area, in the U.S. and Australia. It currently eliminated Facebook News in the UK, France, and Germany, and this relocation needs to come as not a surprise to anybody who’s been following Meta’s continued efforts to distance its platforms from politics and news.

The business stated it’s eliminating the tab to “focus our time and resources on things individuals inform us they wish to see more of on the platform, consisting of short-form video.” That’s ideal folks, say goodbye to news on Facebook so the platform can invest more money and time on Reels.
