A rollercoaster car had to be emptied and people had to get out 60 meters in the air because someone’s scarf got stuck in a wheel.
Adventurous people were about to experience a scary drop on the DC Rivals HyperCoaster at Warner Bros Movie World in Australia. But the ride suddenly stopped on Friday.
The problem was only seen when a worker with very good eyes noticed the scarf stuck in the wheel.
The ride operator stopped the ride from far away when it was going up a hill just to be safe, according to managers.
It took about three hours to get everyone off the train. They had to put on special gear and be helped down some emergency stairs beside the track.
The ride is really tall at 200 feet and it’s also the tallest, longest and fastest ride in the southern hemisphere.
A Warner Bros Movie World spokesperson said that the ride and safety systems worked as they should, and all the guests are safe while the ride is stopped in a safe area.
Our team guided the guests down the hill using the lift, which is something we practice and all they have to do is walk down the stairs to get on the ride. Because the lift hill is really high, we gave the guests a harness to keep them safe.
The ride was shut down after the accident but it will be open again on Saturday.
The spokesperson said: “We know it’s annoying when rides stop, and that’s why we don’t allow people to bring loose items on the rides. We want guests to follow the instructions of our staff. “
