Reuters: ByteDance would prefer TikTok shutdown in the US instead of divesting

The United States federal government authorized the landmark nationwide security plan which was signed into law by President Joe Biden the other day. The brand-new guideline efficiently offers TikTok moms and dad business ByteDance a final notice to offer TikTok’s United States organization to a regional business in the next 9 months or deal with a reliable restriction on the platform.

Reuters is now reporting that ByteDance is not ready to sell TikTok to a United States business and would rather have its platform closed down. TikTok’s algorithms are considered core to ByteDance’s operation making a prospective sale of the platform non-viable. ByteDabce will appeal the restriction in court and wishes to obstruct the just recently passed legislation.

In associated news, The Information released a report declaring that ByteDance was taking a look at the possibility of offering a bulk stake in TikTok without product packaging in its algorithm. Those claims were later on rejected by ByteDance in a news release on Chinese media platform Toutiao.
