The Imaginary

Netflix has officially announced a multi-film partnership with Japanese animation studio Studio Ponoc which will see the streamer take the global streaming rights to Studio Ponoc’s upcoming animated film slate.

That includes the Yoshiyuki Momose-directed fantasy anime movie “The Imaginary” which is scheduled to stream later this year following its theatrical release in Japan. [Source: Netflix]

My Old Ass

Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly targeting a wide North American and potential international theatrical release for Megan Park’s Sundance hit “My Old Ass” starring Aubrey Plaza. The deal for the film is said to be worth roughly $15 million.

The story follows a bright-yet-irreverent girl (Maisy Stella) on the summer before college who comes face-to-face with her older self during a mushroom trip. She finds herself questioning her life choices and the relationships around her. Percy Hynes White, Maddie Ziegler and Kerrice Brooks also star.[Source:[Source:Variety]

Blink Twice

Zoë Kravitz’s feature directorial debut has been renamed from “P-ssy Island” to “Blink Twice” and has set a global theatrical release on August 23rd via Amazon MGM Studios.

Kravitz and E.T. Feigenbaum penneed the film about a cocktail waitress (Naomi Ackie) invited to the private island of a tech billionaire (Channing Tatum) for a party. When strange things start to happen, she realises something is wrong with this place.[Source:[Source:Deadline]

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady Studios’ “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” arrives in stores in about a week on February 2nd and to celebrate, a new live-action trailer is out.

Will Arnett and Ron Funches co-star in the trailer which sees them playing characters (Arnett is Deadshot, Funches is Harley Quinn) taking down enemies.

Wish

Disney has shared a deleted song from its recent fantasy animated feature “Wish” which has become available to rent or buy on digital platforms recently

The song, “A Wish Worth Making,” is performed by Victor Garber’s character Saba Sabino and is part of a new featurette about the film with directors Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn discussing the story behind the its creation.
