Glen Powell, Anthony Mackie and Laura Dern are set to heading the legal drama “Monsanto” at Rocket Science. The job comes from writer-director John Lee Hancock.
The real story tale follows young, untried lawyer Brent Wisner (Powell), who handles a relatively overwhelming case versus the huge U.S. chemical business Monsanto on behalf of Dewayne “Lee” Johnson (Mackie).
Johnson utilized the business’s best-known item, Roundup, an extremely economically effective weed and yard pesticide killer, as part of his task as a high school groundskeeper and is now suffering diseases.
Dern will play a Monsanto’s primary toxicologist who affirms that the item is safe. Adam McKay, Kevin Messick, Moritz Borman, Eric Kopeloff, Philip Schulz-Deyle and Jon Levin are producing.
Powell is on a hot streak following the success of “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Anyone But You”. He’ll have both “Hit Man” and “Twisters” striking this Summer and is presently shooting vengeance drama “Huntington”.
Mackie will be doing more “Captain America: Brave New World” this year and is anticipated to lead a 2nd season of “Twisted Metal”. Dern just recently executive produced and starred in “Palm Royale” for Apple television+.
