OnePlus is a bit of an underdog when it comes to high-performance flagships, if only because Samsung and Apple tend to dominate the field. That said, its latest flagship, the OnePlus 12, is pretty excellent with a lot of great features to offer and a reasonable price tag. But because it’s so new and released only a few weeks ago, there aren’t a lot of great direct deals for you to take advantage of. In fact, most options revolve around trade-in, although they are quite significant, so it’s not all that bad.
The OnePlus 12 offers several upgrades over its predecessor, the OnePlus 11, the most significant of which are internal changes. For example, this device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, a top-tier processor that will improve overall performance. The baseline RAM has also been upped to 12GB from last year’s 8GB, and the minimum storage has doubled to 256GB from the OnePlus 11’s 128GB. The OnePlus 12 has a 5,400-mAh battery, an improvement over the 5,000-mAh battery of its predecessor.
OnePlus also launched the OnePlus 12R alongside its new flagship handset. The 12R is a more budget-focused device with lower specs and a cheaper starting price. It runs the older Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and has a pared-back camera setup and a shorter software support period, but it’s still a solid budget phone starting at $500.
