New 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Revealed in First Official Pics

As the 2024 Montreal Auto Show approaches, Honda Canada has provided a sneak peek at the upcoming 2025 Civic Hybrid sedan set to commence production in Alliston, Ontario, this spring.

Revealing images of the Sport Touring model, it remains uncertain if this will be the sole trim available in Canada, but notably, the Canadian version of the Civic Hybrid exudes a sportier appearance compared to its European counterpart.

Distinguishing features include a unique honeycomb mesh grille at the front and a redesigned lower bumper, contributing to a sharp and distinct aesthetic. The sides showcase special alloy wheels and black mirror caps akin to the gas-powered Civic Sport, while the rear end exhibits minimal differences aside from model-specific badges.

While interior images are not available, expectations are that it will share similarities with the standard Civic but with minor alterations. Positioned to constitute over 40 percent of total Civic sales in North America, the Alliston factory will serve as the primary production site for the Civic Hybrid.

Production for the 2025 Civic Hybrid sedan is scheduled to kick off in spring at the Alliston facility, with the Civic Hatchback Hybrid following suit a few weeks later in Greensburg, Indiana. Both plants are already responsible for manufacturing the CR-V Hybrid.

The Civic Hybrid will incorporate Honda’s two-motor hybrid system, delivering a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft. of torque. It aims to compete favorably with the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and Hyundai Elantra Hybrid in terms of efficiency, although pricing may be on the higher side. In 2022, Honda Canada announced a substantial investment to upgrade its Alliston facilities for high-volume hybrid production.
