Michael Foley: Gardaí launch murder investigation

A murder examination is in progress following the death of Michael Foley in Macroom, County Cork previously in the week.

Sixty-one-year-old Mr Foley’s body was discovered at lunch break on Tuesday at a home near a protected real estate complex in Macroom.

He was found by his care employee who went to examine him following issues for his well-being.

Mr Foley, who was initially from Clonakilty, was discovered on the flooring of the home with noticeable injuries to his head, neck and upper body.

The examination is being led by a Senior Investigating Officer and a Garda Family Liaison Officer has actually been selected to communicate with the household of the deceased.

Gardaí are interesting anybody who might have just recently spoken with Mr Foley to call them.

A post-mortem was finished by State Pathologist, Dr. Margot Bolster at Cork University Hospital.

The outcomes of the post-mortem are not being launched for functional factors.
