Are you all set for it? The last trailer for the approaching musical film adjustment of Mean Girls dropped Wednesday early morning (Jan. 3) and it means some huge, strong tune and dance numbers. The clip opens with constantly unaware primary Duvall (Tim Meadows) inviting curve-busting brand-new trainee Cady Heron (Angourie Rice) to school.

Cue a threatening picture of The Plastics leader Regina George (Reneé Rappwhose entryway discovers her standing with arms crossed, backlit by a blood traffic signal in the middle of the school corridor as the vocalist who starred in the Broadway musical variation of the high school drama– based upon the 2004 movie of the very same name– intones “my name is Regina George.”

A quick-cut montage takes us from a young boy drumming on the lockers to George welcoming “loser” Heron into her cars and truck as a fellow trainee alerts, “Regina George is a scum-sucking life burner.” We get a peek of completely unqualified health instructor Coach Carr (Jon Hamm) offering the kids a lesson on the risks of female “whoremones” to Ms. Nordbury’s (Tina Fey) scary and a short look of an uptempo dance break.

The 2nd half of the trailer is cued to Megan Thee Stallion and Rapp’s”Not My Fault,” and Duvall reading from the series’ notorious “burn book,” which exposes that a person of his trainees keeps her secret vodka stash inside her inhaler. Plus, we get numerous cringe shots of Mrs. George (Busy Philipps) simply attempting so difficult to be a cool mama.

Mean Girls hits theaters on Jan. 12 with a cast that likewise consists of Bebe Wood and Avantika as the other Plastics and The Summer I Turned Pretty‘s Chris Briney as Regina’s ex, Aaron Samuels, with Heron’s friends Janis and Damian played, respectively, by Auliʻi Cravalho and Jaquel Spivey.
