The Mandarin Oriental hotel group is set to make its mark on Budapest’s hotel landscape with the statement of the opening of the Mandarin Oriental Gellert, Budapest, arranged for 2027. It will revive the Hotel Gellért, an Art Nouveau architectural gem, following a total restoration and rebranding.

Inaugurated in 1918, the Hotel Gellért is found on the Buda side of Budapest, near the Liberty Bridge. Obtained by the BDPST Group, this home will go through a change under the management of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, understood for bring back homes consisting of the Mandarin Oriental Ritz in Madrid, the Mandarin Oriental Savoy in Zurich and the Mandarin Oriental Palace in Lucerne.

Laurent Kleitman, Managing Director of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, stresses the dedication to protecting regional workmanship and Hungarian cultural heritage while incorporating the modern-day high-end, convenience and sustainability requirements for which the brand name is renowned.

István Tiborcz, owner and president of the BDPST Group, stresses the business’s obligation to maintain the history of the structure and its significance to Budapest. The partnership with Mandarin Oriental, understood for its competence and regard for cultural roots, intends to bring back the previous magnificence of the Hotel Gellért for future generations.

Mandarin Oriental Gellert, Budapest will concentrate on health, drawing motivation from Budapest’s distinguished day spa culture, which goes back to Roman times. The hotel will include a medspa location with 7 experiential areas, mixing Asian treatments with Eastern European charm and day spa treatments.

London-based interior decoration studio Alexander Waterworth will supervise the improvement of spaces, suites, health locations and public areas. The hotel will include an indoor pool with a retractable glass ceiling, a physical fitness and motion studio, and a roof bar with breathtaking views of the city and the Danube.
