Mahindra Percussion Festival: Lineup, Dates and Venue Announced

Indian classical and blend artists such as Vikku Vinayakram and Taufiq Qureshi, percussion cumulative Rhythms of India, folk-rockers Swarathma and more bring specifically curated efficiencies to the 2nd edition in Bengaluru

Mahindra Percussion Festival go back to Bengaluru for a 2nd edition, this time scaling as much as a two-day edition and moving inside your home to the Prestige Srihari Khoday Centre for Performing Arts auditorium on March 23rd and 24th.

Initially revealed as a day-long celebration commemorating Indian and worldwide percussion and rhythm exponents, the two-day edition now includes a completely homegrown lineup bringing specifically curated efficiencies.

Veteran artist Vikku Vinayakram‘s Ghatam Symphony with relative and artists V. SelvaganeshSwaminathan Selvaganesh and V. Umashankar will carry out at the celebration, as will Taufiq Qureshi‘s Surya, an act that mixes Afro, Latin, Indian and modern music. Signing Up With Qureshi are Carnatic guitar player Abhay Nayampallysarod artist Sarang Kulkarni, harmonium artist Kaushiki Joglekar and percussionist Shikhar Naad.

Mridangam experimentalists Anantha R Krishana and Viveick Rajagopalan‘s Two Summ strategy to integrate mridangam with electronic, drum and bass, jazz, and folk. Another brand-new efficiency includes Ashtanayika– Kal Aur Aaj, which produces a combination of poetry, rap, and dance, including singer Shivangini Yeashu Yuvraj, rap artists Krantinaari and Pratikato name a few artists.

The Rhythms of India ensemble will likewise take the phase at Mahindra Percussion Festival, led konnakol and mridangam artist BC Manjunath, drummer Darshan Doshi, percussionist-producer SG Pramath Kiran, and singer Varijashree VenugopalRepping Bengaluru are folk-rock heroes Swarathmawho are preparing a cooperation with Thavil Raja and Beat Gurus. The celebration is completed by singer-percussionist Charu Hariharan’s partnership with Kerala percussive groups Kattunaykkar Jenukuruba and Kozhikode Nanthalakootam, which will bring folk and tribal artists to highlight the variety and richness of Indian percussion.

Tickets for each day of the celebration are presently priced at 750 and 1,000 for various seating zones.
