MONTREAL– Lightspeed Commerce Inc. reported a loss of US$ 40.2 million in its most current quarter as its earnings increased 27 percent compared to a year previously.

The Montreal-based e-commerce innovation business, which keeps its books in U.S. dollars, states its loss totaled up to 26 cents United States per diluted share for the quarter ended Dec. 31.

The outcome compared to a loss of US$ 814.8 million or US$ 5.39 per diluted share a year previously when the business took a non-cash goodwill problems charge of US$ 748.7 million.

On an adjusted basis, Lightspeed states it made US$ 11.8 million or 8 cents per share in its most current quarter compared to an adjusted earnings of US$ 400,000 or no cents per share a year previously.

Profits for what was the 3rd quarter of the business’s 2024 fiscal year amounted to US$ 239.7 million, up from US$ 188.7 million a year previously.

In its outlook for its complete 2024 fiscal year, Lightspeed states it anticipates profits of about US$ 895 million to US$ 905 million, while its adjusted revenues before interest, taxes, devaluation and amortization are anticipated to be break even or much better.
