Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan says the Barbie character ‘Ken’ is getting the “last laugh” with Ryan Gosling’s Oscar nomination after actress Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig were snubbed from their respective categories.
Actor Ryan Gosling, who plays ‘Ken’ in the film, expressed his disappointment at the Acadamy Awards after he was nominated for his supporting role.
“They make him out to be a total numskull in the movie,” Mr Morgan said.
“He is the downtrodden, oppressed guy who ends up getting dumped because she doesn’t need a man, she can do it all himself.”
The film was still nominated for eight awards, including Best Picture.
