India, US talk to combat terror, money laundering

India and the United States held homeland security discussion after a space of 2 years on Wednesday, with Union home secretary Ajay Bhalla leading the Indian delegation while the United States delegation was headed by Kristie Canegallo, acting deputy secretary, United States Department of Homeland Security.

The 2 sides examined continuous cooperation in counterterrorism and security domains, a crucial pillar of the India-US tactical collaboration. In this context, they talked about actions that can be required to strengthen bilateral efforts to fight terrorism and violent extremism, drug trafficking and organised criminal activity, and guarantee transport security, according to a declaration released by the home ministry.
