‘HK to ensure it’s an attractive event destination’

President John Lee on Tuesday stated he knows that Hong Kong is taking on other locations when attempting to host mega occasions, including that authorities will work to make sure the city is an attractive location for occasion organisers.

Lee was reacting to media reports that Singapore used the American pop icon Taylor Swift countless United States dollars to have her sing in the city-state – and not anywhere else in Southeast Asia – throughout her current world trip.

“We’ll make every effort to [host the mega events]We understand that we’ll be taking on various cities, so we’ll guarantee that we’re appealing and competitive enough … We’ll deal with that regard,” he stated.

“But we need to make sure that public cash is utilized appropriately, which costs will create adequate returns and produce genuine financial worth.”

The CE stated that Hong Kong will host more than 300 exhibits this year, consisting of occasions that transferred from the SAR to locations like Dubai and Singapore throughout the pandemic.

He stated authorities will continue to bring more massive occasions to the city, and contacted companies to do their part to equate them into financial advantages.

“The federal government resembles a director, and different sectors and individuals operating in these sectors require to play their part well – by offering excellent service and experience to bring in travelers to come here and invest cash, so that they will go back to Hong Kong, and state advantages about the city to their friends and family.”
