Teams were assisted by calm winds blowing smoke and cinders far from the town. The report kept in mind the structure “candled” as it burned, instead of tipping over and possibly spreading out flames to close-by homes.

The report explained the elevator as an overall loss, with “just a hole of burning debris” left by the time teams went back to Davidson.

No injuries were reported and there was no additional residential or commercial property damage.

The Davidson fire department went on to thank its own volunteers, in addition to those from Loreburn and Elbow for their reaction, and neighborhood members who supplied food, water and coffee for teams as they worked.

Loreburn lies about 50 kilometres west of Davidson.
