MICKELA Panday stated her last farewell to her daddy, previous prime minister Basdeo Panday, when she spread his ashes into the Gulf of Paria.

This was displayed in a video published on her Facebook page on January 12. It is unclear when the event occurred.

Mickela published: “We have actually spread our dearest daddy’s ashes into the sea. It was a serene minute filled with cherished memories of the past and expect the future.”

Panday, 90, passed away in the United States on December 1. He worked as Trinidad and Tobago’s 5th prime minister in between 1995-2001.

He had actually gone there in mid-December for medical treatment.

Panday was cremated at the Shore of Peace, Mosquito Creek, South Oropouche on January 9, after a state funeral service at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA) in San Fernando.

The video revealed Mickela walking the cremation website with her hands gripped in prayer, nestling the urn including her daddy’s ashes, taking it down to the water’s edge and spreading the ashes into the sea.

As she completed, Mickela made a quick appreciate the sky and smiled.
