First Look: Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis”

Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola’s legendary “Megalopolis” is set to have its world launching at the Cannes Film Festival in a couple of weeks. Today, a first-look picture of stars Adam Driver and Nathalie Emmanuel in the movie is out.

Vanity Fair released the picture in addition to a declaration from Coppola that cleans up some old reports about the film and describes some other things.

Coppola credits the H.G. Wells-penned 1936 movie “Things to Come” as his very first motivation, and calls this $120 million-budgeted movie as having to do with “developing the world of tomorrow”.

He states the last movie is the outcome of around 300 rewrites with over forty scholars, authors, artists, filmmakers and poets.

Giancarlo Esposito, Aubrey Plaza, Shia LaBeouf, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kathryn Hunter, Dustin Hoffman, Jason Schwartzman, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Chloe Fineman and James Remar star.

The movie strikes France in September and does not have any other global circulation at this moment.
