Head coach Xavier Gilbert was pleased with the efficiency of his charges in the last of the ISSA/TIP Friendly Society football competitors as they walked to a 9-1 whipping of Holmwood Technical at the Stadium East the other day.

“I believe we made it simple as we addressed them right away at the start. We wished to score a couple of early objectives and we got that, and as soon as we got that it was tough for them to come back,” Gilbert specified.

Excelsior opened their account as early as the 2nd minute through Destiny Powell as the protecting champs made their intents understood from the whistle. Jada-Lee Bryan in the 5th minute, Cassandra Smith’s 15th-minute strike and Powell once again in the 23rd minute made it 4-0 by the midway mark as the Mountain View-based Excelsior had the lion’s share of belongings and goal-scoring chances.

In the 2nd half, it was a comparable dominant proving as Shauntai Pryce got things entering the opening minute. Powell in the 69th and 71st minute finished her four-timer.

Holmwood Technical got on the scoresheet through a well-taken complimentary kick from Jamara Jones, before Excelsior, finished their goalscoring fest through Andrene Smith and Ricquanna Richards in the 74th and 76th minutes, respectively.

Maurice Duncan, head coach of Holmwood Technical, was dissatisfied about the result.

“I’m really dissatisfied as it appeared as if absolutely nothing was kept in mind, and the group didn’t follow the guidelines. All the protective concepts were practiced in training, and they weren’t performed in the video game,” Duncan discussed.

In the day’s earlier encounter, Garvey Maceo beat Edith Dalton James 4-1 to protect 3rd location.
