EFCC freezes N3bn traced to Hadi Sirika’s brother’s account

The EFCC questioned and jailed Abubakar Ahmad Sirika, sibling of Hadi Sirika, immediate-past Minister, over a supposed N8.06 billion agreement scams in the Federal Ministry of Aviation.

About N3.2 billion of the agreement was traced to Engirios Nigeria Limited, owned by Abubakar Sirika, who is a Level-16 officer and a deputy director in the Federal Ministry of Water Resources.

4 huge agreements were granted to Abubakar’s Engirios Nigeria Limited when his sibling remained in the ministry.

EFCC detectives state Abubakar Ahmad Sirika is noted as the business’s MD/CEO and the sole signatory to the 2 accounts connected to the company with 2 banks.

The 4 agreements the ex-minister granted to his sibling which were not performed are:
— Construction of the Terminal Building in Katsina Airport (N1.3 bn).
— Fire Truck Maintenance and Refurbishment Centre in
Katsina Airport (N3.8 bn);
— Procurement and setup of elevators, a/c unit and power generator home in Aviation House, Abuja (N615m);
— Procurement of Magnus Aircraft and simulator for Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria (N2.3 bn).
Private investigators exposed a payment of N3.2 bn out of the overall agreement amount to Engirios Nigeria Limited. Upon invoice of the payment, Abubakar Ahmad Sirika presumably moved it to various business and people.
The detectives likewise declared that a trace of work requires to be done on any of the agreement products to date.
