Laura Lynch, an establishing member of the United States nation band Dixie Chicks, passed away in a head-on auto accident on a Texas highway, police stated on Saturday.
“We are stunned and saddened to discover of the death of Laura Lynch,” the band, which relabelled itself The Chicks in 2020, composed on social networks.
“Laura was a brilliant light … her transmittable energy and humour offered a stimulate to the early days of our band,” the band stated in the declaration.
Lynch, who co-founded the popular group in 1989 in Dallas together with artists Robin Lynn Macy and siblings Martie and Emily Erwin, passed away in a head-on accident on a highway beyond El Paso on Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated in a declaration.
Lynch, 65, was at the wheel of her lorry driving eastbound on United States 62 beyond the city of El Paso when another vehicle taking a trip in the opposite instructions tried to pass a lorry on a two-way concentrated part of the highway.
It crashed into Lynch’s Ford truck, and she was noticable dead at the scene. The motorist of the other automobile was carried to a regional health center with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities stated.
The Chicks applauded Lynch’s “contagious energy and humour” and stated in a declaration she was “critical” to the band’s early success.
Lynch was the Dixie Chick’s bassist and, at one point, the primary singer. She left the group in 1995.
Initially established as a bluegrass band, Dixie Chicks launched their significant label launching Wide Open Spaces in 1998, offering “more CDs than all other c and w groups integrated,” and making their very first Grammy Award, according to the awards’ site.
