David Beckham shows off pancake making skills as he leads stars celebrating Shrove Tuesday

Just when you thought there was only one super chef in the Beckham family, footballing legend David Beckham proved exactly where his son Brooklyn had inherited his culinary flair from, as he kicked off Tuesday with a mouthwatering pancake breakfast for his twelve year old daughter Harper.

The 48 year old star was just one of several celebrities making the most of pancake day, 13 February, in which people from all around the world will be whipping up a delicious batch of the tasty treat to mark Shrove Tuesday, before Lent begins.

Documenting the process on social media, David was awake bright and early to whip up the sweet treat for his daughter as he filmed himself holding up his creations before carrying them to her bedroom where the tween was still sleeping.

In a particularly adorable moment, David was then heard singing “Harper Seven it’s Pancake Day, wakey wakey…” as he tried to entice her with a plate of crepes, however the unimpressed Harper was far from pleased by the rude awakening and desperately rolled over to try and go back to sleep as her father persevered.

Eventually however, David admitted defeat and left the plate beside her while calling out: “Love ya!”

Alongside the video he had shared online, David even admitted he was a bit too excited about the annual pancake day as he told his fans: : “Love love love pancake day. Maybe more than my kids. Dads a little to early & maybe a little to excited, fancy a pancake mum?”

David wasn’t the only star getting stuck into the pancake day spirit however, as celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was also on hand to offer his followers a bit of advice about how to create the perfect pancake.

Gordon Ramsay gave his fans a quick tutorial on the perfect crepe, including a cheeky jibe about being a the “perfect tosser”

In his own post, Gordon shared a video tutorial for a simple pancake recipe alongside the caption: “Happy #PancakeDay ! Here’s an amazing recipe to celebrate today (tossing optional) ! Enjoy Gx”

And in the video itself, even the chef himself couldn’t resist sneaking a cheeky joke in as he told his followers: “I’ve been called many things in my career but one thing I stand by is that I’m the perfect tosser… because I’m great at tossing pancakes!”

Stacey Solomon was also keen to embrace the pancake fun as she woke up early to prepare a special batch of Valentine’s themed pancakes for her family in a signature shade of pastel pink.

In her own Instagram story, Stacey showed the step by step process behind her pancake recipe, however she also admitted: “I’m ready to go back to bed now” after such an early start to her day.

It was well worth the extra effort however, as the doting mum went on to reveal her finished creation: a towering stack of red and pink pancakes, served with cream, sugar strands and a selection of raspberries!

And it appears the delicious snack went down a treat, as Stacey later even revealed: “Rose loved these so much. Adding a drop of colour was the easiest way I could think to them a bit different. Happy Pancake Day everyone.”

Dermot O’Leary appeared to struggle with his pancake creation while Alison Hammond was a natural

Dermot’s pancake looked more like an omelette than a crepe, something which left Alison in stitches

One star who didn’t have quite as successful a run however, was Ranvir Singh, who appeared to be having a bit of trouble with her signature pancake toss while standing in for Lorraine Kelly live on ITV’s Lorraine.

The presenter had been tasked with flipping a crepe as part of a cooking segment on the show, but appeared to be terrified as she struggled to catch her airborne creation in the frying pan.

This Morning also embraced the Pancake Day spirit too, as Alison Hammond proved to be a natural for flipping her pancake over a foot into the air, while hosting a segment alongside professional chef Phil Vickery and co-host Dermot O’Leary.

Sadly for Dermot however, he wasn’t quite so lucky, with his own pancake creation looking more like an omelette than the crepe they had originally set out to make – much to the amusement of his co-stars!
