Court remands Kano businessman in prison for allegedly injuring creditor

A Shari’a Court in Kano State on Friday, ordered that a 26-year-old businessman, Abdulsamad Muhammed be remanded in a correction centre (prison) for allegedly injuring his creditor.

The defendant who lives in Mazaunar Tanko Quarters of Kano, is charged with causing grievous hurt.

The Judge, Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered that the defendant be remanded in a Correctional facility until Feb. 29.

Earlier, the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Abdul Wada informed the court that Ashiru Hamza, of Sabon Titi Quarters Kano, reported the matter at the Fagge Police Division on Feb.7.

He said that the defendant attacked the complainant when he visited his shup, demanding that he pays back the N60,000 he had earlier loaned him.

“The defendant got angry, picked offence in the complainant’s visit. He pushed the complainant out of his shop.

“As a result of the pushing, the complainant sustained grievous injury on his forehead and left eye,” he said.
