Agriculture Minister allocates EGP 307.35m for 426 beneficiaries within fattening cattle project

The Board of Directors of the nationwide job for fattening livestock, chaired by Elsayed Elkosayer, the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, authorized the allotment of EGP 307.35 m for 426 recipients, consisting of small breeders and young graduates, for an overall of 6,833 heads of livestock. This comes within the structure of the governmental effort “Decent Life,” introduced by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, to establish the Egyptian countryside and enhance the standard of life of little farmers and breeders.

Mostafa El-Sayyad, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Livestock, Fisheries, and Poultry, mentioned that the overall financing designated to the task up until now totals up to around EGP 8.572 bn for about 43,500 recipients, for the raising and fattening of over 505,000 head of livestock, whether calves for meat production or high-yielding cows for milk production, to offer more meat and dairy items to the marketplace.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture designated the Livestock and Poultry Wealth Development Sector and the General Authority for Veterinary Services to collaborate with the directorates of farming and veterinary medication at the level of governorates across the country to magnify field follow-ups on the recipients of the nationwide job for fattening livestock, while offering all elements of veterinary and health assistance and studying any issues dealing with the recipients on the ground and working to fix them.

He stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agricultural Bank of Egypt, and the National Bank of Egypt conduct evaluations of recipients’ barns to make sure the schedule of appropriate area and appropriate real estate. Upon getting the head of livestock, they are guaranteed in the Livestock Insurance Fund at a minimized rate. Field follow-ups on recipients’ barns are then heightened by the Livestock and Poultry Wealth Development Sector and the General Authority for Veterinary Services.

El-Sayyad mentioned: “The nationwide task for fattening livestock intends to supply red meat in the market at a reasonable and affordable rate for both manufacturers and customers, in addition to supporting rates in the markets, whether for live livestock or rates of red meat and dairy.”

Tarek Sulaiman, the Head of the Livestock and Poultry Wealth Development Sector, discussed that the nationwide task for fattening livestock can be accessed by using to the nearby farming administration or branch of the Agricultural Bank of Egypt or the National Bank of Egypt, spread out throughout the governorates, or through electronic interaction with the Livestock and Poultry Wealth Development Sector.
