An absolutely remarkable achievement from the Ivory Coast caretaker manager Emerse Fae.
He started the tournament as assistant manager to Jean-Louis Gasset.
Gasset was sacked after the group stages and Fae wasn’t even the first choice to be the caretaker.
The Ivory Coast tried and failed to bring in France’s women’s boss Herve Renard on a temporary basis.
And Fae, a former Reading player, has just led the hosts into the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
