Actor-turned-politician Mithun Chakraborty, who was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Kolkata after complaining of chest pain, has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke) of the brain. However, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed a soft diet, revealed hospital sources.

The ‘Disco Dancer’ actor was rushed to the emergency unit of Apollo Hospital in Kolkata after he complained of chest pain and uneasiness. 

Issuing a medical bulletin, the hospital where the legendary actor is admitted wrote, “Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispecialty Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9:40am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs.”

“Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented, and has consumed a soft diet,” the bulletin read.

“Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist, and a gastroenterologist,” it concluded. 

On the other hand, Mithun’s son Mimoh told the media that he is 100% fine and it’s a routine check-up.
