The City of Windsor’s interim property tax bills for 2024 have been mailed out and should have been delivered by now, the city says.
The city on Monday said property owners who have not yet received a tax bill should call 311 or 519-255-2489, or email propertytax@citywindsor.ca.

Due dates for regular payments are Feb. 14, March 13, and April 17. The city must receive those payments on or before those dates.

Payments can be made at an approved bank, credit union or trust company; by telephone or online banking; by mail using cheques; with mortgage payments at your financial institution; and by cheque at the 350 City Hall Sq. W. drop-off box.
The city also offers three pre-authorized payment plans, which property owners can enrol in at any time by visiting the “paying your taxes” page on citywindsor.ca.
Payments through the pre-authorized payment instalment date plan are Feb. 14, March 13, and April 17. For the mid-month plan, the dates are Feb. 14, March 15, April 15, May 15, and June 17, and for the end-of-month plan, they are Feb. 29, March 28, April 30, May 31, and June 28.
Property owners having trouble keeping up with their property tax payments can seek lower-cost financing alternatives available through local financial institutions.

The city offers three streams of assistance with property taxes.
The tax repayment program is available to all property owners; the tax relief program for extreme poverty or sickness is available to single-family residential property owners that meet eligibility criteria and must be applied to by Feb. 29; and the tax deferral program is available to low-income seniors or persons with disabilities who own single-family residential properties and meet eligibility criteria. It also has an application deadline of Feb. 29.
If your property taxes are paid by a mortgage or financial institution, you will receive a tax bill for your records, and no additional action is required.
