‎SAUDIA’s arm signs SAR 500M deal with Defense Ministry

Saudia Private Aviation, a subsidiary of national flag carrier SAUDIA, signed an agreement with the Saudi Ministry of Defense worth more than SAR 500 million to provide ground services and planning for the ministry’s flights, said Abdullah Al-Shahrani, the official spokesman for the Saudi Airlines Group.

He also revealed that Saudia Aerospace Engineering Industries (SAEI), a subsidiary, signed an agreement with the Brazilian airline Embraer to establish an approved maintenance center in the new maintenance village.

Al-Shahrani added, in an interview with Al-Sharq Bloomberg TV, on the sidelines of the World Defense Show 2024 held in Riyadh, that the center will be to assemble three models of Embraer aircraft.

He pointed out that the company announced, for the first time, a mobile maintenance service during the exhibition with the aim of providing service at the location of the aircraft, noting that it is the first of its kind in MENA region.
