Electrical energy merchants will be needed to supply standard defense for domestic customers, after the marketplace regulator chose to mandate customer care standards.

The choice by the Electricity Authority indicates merchants will need to offer a variety of defense for customers from the start of 2025.

“Our members look for continuous enhancements to consumer care and aim to provide well beyond the minimum set out in the standards.”
