Ecological activists splashed theMona Lisawith soup on Sunday early morning as they required the right to healthy and sustainable food.
The protesters tossed tomato soup at Leonardo da Vinci’s work of art, which is secured by a glass case in the Louvre museum in Paris. The painting wasn’t harmed and the gallery where it hangs was closed for an hour for cleansing, the Louvre stated. The space resumed at 11:30 a.m. regional time.
The action indicated the start of a “civil resistance” project on food rights, Riposte Alimentaire (Food Retaliation), the group accountable, stated in a declaration. The news was previously reported by BFM TELEVISION.

Culture Minister Rachida Datistatedin a post on X that “no cause” might validate an attack on the painting. The museum stated it would submit a grievance.
