A court here on Saturday acquitted Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai in a 27-year-old case of holding a demonstration in offense of prohibitory orders.

Rai’s attorney Anuj Yadav stated, “The MP-MLA Court of Judge Ujjawal Upadhyay acquitted Rai after the prosecution stopped working to show the accusations.”

Yadav stated that the case was lodged in 1996 and it was declared that Rai held a demonstration with his advocates in infraction of prohibitory orders.
