Update: China launches new cargo craft to send space station supplies

WENCHANG, Hainan, Jan. 17 (Xinhua)– China released freight spacecraft Tianzhou-7 on Wednesday night to provide materials for its orbiting Tiangong spaceport station, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).

The Long March-7 Y8 rocket, bring Tianzhou-7, launched at 10:27 p.m. (Beijing Time) from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan, the CMSA stated.

After about 10 minutes, Tianzhou-7 separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit. Its photovoltaic panels quickly unfolded. The firm stated the launch a total success.

The freight craft will later on perform the rendezvous and docking with the spaceport station mix.
