Committee members represent socially disadvantaged farmers, not-for-profit companies, civil liberties companies or occupations, and organizations of college.

The Advisory Committee for Minority Farmers was developed by Congress in the Food Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 to guarantee that underserved farmers have equivalent access to USDA programs.
