FOLLOWING ON FROM the runaway success of Squid Game: The Challenge, Netflix has just added another drama-filled jewel to its reality programming crown. The Trust: A Game of Greed is the latest gameshow to bill itself as a “social experiment,” offering participants the chance to walk away with a huge amount of money… if they are willing to be ruthless enough.
“Instead of fighting each week to get one step closer to the reward, the contestants are offered the winnings right from the start,” reads the show’s official synopsis. “What comes next, and how they choose to distribute the money amongst themselves, is where the game gets interesting — or better yet, downright dirty. Because in this social experiment, the players’ fates are in their own hands: No one has to lose.”
Hosted by Brooke Baldwin, The Trust Season 1 consists of eight episodes, following the cast of 11 strangers as they live together, form alliances, and come up with reasons to vote each other out, no matter how spurious. The dog-eat-dog premise of The Trust is sure to appeal to Squid Game fans, while the ability to vote out your fellow contestants from the safety of anonymity evokes another one of last year’s reality gameshow hits, The Traitors.
How many episodes are in The Trust Season 1?
Season 1 consists of eight episodes. The first four episodes of The Trust are already available to watch right now on Netflix. The remaining four episodes of the first season will drop on the streaming platform over the course of two weeks: Episodes 5 to 7 will arrive on Wednesday, January 17, ahead of Episode 8, the season finale, on Wednesday, January 24.
