Nvidia Plans to Mass-Produce China-Specific H20 Chip in Q2

Nvidia is apparently set to begin standardizing AI chips in the 2nd quarter of 2024, particularly created for the Chinese market. Regardless of not having formally revealed the sale of these chips, the preliminary output of the China-targeted H20 AI chips will be rather restricted, mostly satisfying orders from big clients.

Amongst the trio of AI chips that Nvidia established to follow U.S. export limitations, the H20 chip boasts the most substantial computational abilities, although its efficiency is rather inferior to the H100.

Nvidia expects its overall earnings for the 4th quarter of the 2024 to strike roughly $20 billion. Nvidia’s dominant position is threatened by AMD’s AI chip, the Instinct MI300X. The general AI chip market in 2024 is predicted to be worth around $75 billion, and AMD is anticipated to protect a 10% market share.
