“Last of Us” Dominates Creative Arts Emmys

HBO’s post-apocalyptic drama “The Last of United States” topped the opening night of the 2023 Creative Arts Emmy awards.

The Television Academy is giving out the tech honors both tonight and tomorrow night after being pressed from its September window due to the strikes. Tomorrow’s discussion will concentrate on truth and range shows.

The series adjustment of the popular PlayStation franchise snagged 8 awards consisting of Nick Offerman and Storm Reid for visitor star and starlet, in addition to modifying, primary title style, prosthetic makeup, sound modifying, blending and VFX.

Next was a three-way tie in between HBO’s “The White Lotus,” FX’s “The Bear” and Netflix’s “Wednesday” which all snagged 4 awards each. ‘Lotus’ took honors for music guidance, casting, hairstyling and rating; ‘Bear’ for casting, modifying, sound eidintg and blending; “Wednesday” for outfits, makeup, primary title music and production style.

Netflix’s “Beef” and Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” were next with 3 each– the previous winning for casting, outfits and makeup whilst the latter won for cinematography, makeup and a juried award for movement style.

“Weird: The Al Yankovic Story won the Emmy for exceptional television motion picture in addition to a music structure award. Ed Sheeran’s tune for “Ted Lasso” won for initial music and lyrics. Other winners consisted of Judith Light (“Poker Face”) and Sam Richardson (“Ted Lasso”) for visitor stars.

The primary televised Emmy Awards event broadcast on Monday, January 15th. “Succession,” “The Last of United States,” “The White Lotus” and “Ted Lasso” boast the most elections this year.
