A 26-year-old man named Pratap Singh Otti was arrested for the abduction and rape of a 16-year-old minor girl in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district of Chhattisgarh. The accused’s mother, who supported him, is currently at large. Otti offered the girl a lift on his bike and then took her to a nearby forest where he raped her. He then kept her confined in his home for two days, repeatedly raping her and subjecting her to physical abuse. When the girl fell unconscious, the accused and his mother assumed she was dead and threw her in a pond.

of Chhattisgarh and the accused mother who supported him in the incident was at large. When the girl fell unconscious, the duo accused threw the girl in a pond assuming that she was dead.
It was on the night of December 21 when the minor was
abducted
few hundred meters away from her home by Pratap Singh Otti, who offered her a lift to drop home on his bike.
He persuaded the girl to hop on the bike and took her to the nearby forest where he raped her.
Police said that the accused then took her to his home in Pendra region and kept her in confinement for two days and repeatedly raped her. When the minor protested, she was badly beaten and threated. The mother of accused was a witness to all of this and neither objected nor tried to protect the minor or report to police about the assault.
The minor after two days of torture and misery fell unconscious and the mother-son duo thought she was dead, they threw her in a pond. It was when local villagers spotted her near the pond in unconscious state, and they identified her and informed the family.
She was rushed to hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
Additional SP Manisha Thakur Rawte said that the parents of girl had reported a missing complaint to police on December 28 at Pendra police station. A case has now been registered under provisions of POCSO Act and Otti has been arrested while his mother is on the run.
