A 41-year-old male remains in custody after an 81-year-old male was stabbed Monday early morning in Gatineau near a senior citizens’ apartment, authorities stated.

The mindful victim was transferred to healthcare facility with severe injuries, Gatineau cops mentioned in a press release late Monday afternoon.

Prior to 10:30 a.m., authorities were contacted us to the scene of the stabbing, near Jean-René-Monette and Vianney streets, where they discovered the victim and likewise a suspect close-by.

An initial examination showed there was no link in between the victim and the suspect, authorities stated.
