Glen Powell had Richard Linklater fooled with wacky Hit Man alter egos

Glen Powell deceived Richard Linklater with his insane ‘Hit Man’ personalities.

The 35-year-old star stars in the motion picture as Gary Johnson– an undercover law enforcement officer who embraces numerous change egos as a phony assassin– and he dove so deeply into a few of the characters that he got the director puzzled.

Speaking at a screening of the Netflix film in New York City on Wednesday (17.04.24), Glen stated: “My preferred part was, I was on set one day, when I was playing Tanner, the hillbilly guy with the missing out on back teeth, such an enjoyable character.

“I was talking with Rick, and Rick actually disrupted the discussion, and he goes, ‘Where’s Glen?’ and I go, ‘I’m Glen! I’m Glen, male, let’s do this.’

“I would come out in character. I’m not like a Method guy, however on those days– I assure, I do not take myself that seriously– I would come out, out of the van, and I would be full-on till we ended the scene because character.”

Glen described that he developed much of the personalities himself which Linklater just saw them for the very first time on set.

The ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ star stated: “In this motion picture, all the characters that I play, Rick didn’t get to see those up until I performed them on set. That’s a great deal of trust! I understood he fidgeted about it, we simply didn’t have time.

“He resembled, ‘We must take a look at those characters in advance, however (likewise), ‘We got ta manage this re-write initially, we got ta do this, we got ta manage casting, we got ta get this place, you got ta go satisfy the mayor, whatever it is, to get the places.’

“All of an unexpected, we got to video game day, and Rick’s like, ‘You got it?’ and I resembled, ‘Yeah, I believe I got it, we’ll see!'”
