Xcel Energy is cutting power to 55,000 Colorado customers rather than risk sparking another wildfire

Xcel Energystated it will cut power to about 55,000 clients in Colorado due to high winds that might fall its power lines and stimulate wildfires.

The state’s biggest energy stated consumers in Boulder County and some near Denver will lose power beginning at 3 p.m. regional time Saturday and lasting till a minimum of twelve noon Sunday, according to a declaration.

The National Weather Service hasprovideda warning cautioning through Sunday for parts of the Denver location with anticipated wind gusts reaching 90 miles (145 kilometers) per hour throughout dry conditions.
