April 5, (THEWILL)- A 4.8 magnitude earthquake on Friday, rocked Lebanon, New Jersey, a town 50 miles west of New York City, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported.
The USGS stated the quake which focused near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, was felt around New York City and Philadelphia.
Reports of injuries were not instantly clear however New York Governor Kathy Hochul stated the quake was felt throughout New York.
“My group is examining effects and any damage that might have happened, and we will upgrade the general public throughout the day”, she composed on social networks.
“The shaking felt throughout the neighborhood in the previous 15 minutes seems an earthquake. We have no reports of damage or injuries”, South Brunswick authorities stated in an alert.
